What type of player is the Capital's Golf Tour for?

The Tour is for all types of players who want a taste of competitive golf. Those for whom this will be their first experience are welcome.

The CGC Tour membership is recommended for players who play at least 20 rounds per year and have a maximum handicap of about 16 (average score of about 88).

How much does it cost?

The CGC Tour Montreal – Elite membership, which includes access to all Tour events, a Golf Canada membership, 10 additional entries in the year-end draw and exclusive discounts on CGC Tour Quebec events will cost a total of $1460 taxes included.

It will be possible to amortize the total cost in 4 equal payments of 365$ taxes included (March-April-May-June).

The CGC Tour – Regular membership, which will allow the player to register individually for the event of their choice, will cost $35 taxes included for the current Golf Canada member and $80 taxes included for the player who is not currently a Golf Canada member.

Obviously the second option includes the Golf Canada membership.

CGC Tour AND Golf Canada memberships are required to participate in tour events.

The entry fee to the events will then vary from $130 to $180 tx for the CGC Tour – Regular member

What will be included in the Elite membership fee?

All events, exclude the cart (unless otherwise noted). Awards, purses and admission to the Gala of Champions for one person (guests not included).

For those who prefer to play with a cart, these will be available at each event for a small fee. Each individual will have to deal directly with the clubs on site. No other amount will be payable during the season.

What payment options will be accepted?

We will set up a monthly payment plan from March to June in order to amortize the cost of the season over a long period.

Payment options include credit card, Interac transfer or cash and cheque.

Elite members who pay for the entire season by June 30, 2022 will receive an additional 10 chances in the year-end participation draw.

What will be the game formula?

The CGC Tour will offer two simultaneous play formats in two separate classes.

The CGC Division will use a Stroke Play format with handicap. This formula allows all players to compete and will reward the players who play the best according to their caliber and potential.

All members will have a real chance to win the cup!

The season will include 9 events including three majors. Points will be awarded according to the ranking at each event. These will be doubled for the Majors. This ranking formula is comparable to the Fedex Cup of the PGA Tour.

The Gross class (GML Division), will use the classic formula, Stroke Play, without handicap. It is open to all amateur players and professionals who have not played on any Tours in the last 2 seasons.

Do I need to have an Index factor to join the Tour?

No. Obviously, it is better to have an official one. However, for those who do not have a verified index factor, we will establish a probationary factor.

You will need to fill out the appropriate section in the player registration form that will be sent once the online registration on our website is completed. Close monitoring will be done after each event to validate the accuracy of the handicap factors for all members of the Tour to ensure that all can compete in a fair and legal manner.

It will, however, be mandatory for each member of the Tour to hold a true handicap factor following their first event on the circuit. The Golf Canada membership will be mandatory and included when required in all our membership packages.

There is no restriction on the maximum index of a player to register on the CGC Tour. However, the maximum Tour index established before each event will be 16.

Will there be multiple game divisions?

The Tour will have two divisions, Gross: GML Division and Net: CGC Division

Why do you limit the number of members to 54?

Since this will be our third season and given the restrictions with the various CGC Tour partner golf clubs, we have determined that it would be best to limit the number of players for the second year.

Obviously, we will re-evaluate everything at the end of the season and take all the comments into consideration in order to make the possible adjustments, if necessary, for our next campaign.

What days will the competitions be held?

All events will be held on a Saturday this year.

What will the prizes and awards be?

See the table of prizes and purses in the Concept, Rules and Regulations section of our website.

Will there be a women's division?

For the third season, we do not plan to have a division for women. Women who are comfortable and able to play white or blue tess are however welcome and will play in the same division as the men. We have already had a woman competitor participate in most of our events last year and the feedback has been very positive!
