An amateur is a golfer who cannot accept cash prizes but can receive a gift certificate not exceeding $1,200 per competition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A professional who has not participated in any professional competition except those of Quebec PGA since 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    CGC TOUR INDEX<\/span><\/h5>\n

    For the first four (4) events played by a member on the CGC Tour, the player will be assigned a\u00a0probationary CGC Tour Index<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    This probationary index will be established based on the player\u2019s Golf Canada record. If a player does not have a recent, valid, or representative Golf Canada record, the CGC Tour reserves the right to use the CGC Tour Index form, as well as any other relevant information, to establish a fair probationary index.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Once a player has completed their fourth (4th) event on the Tour, the CGC Tour Index will officially take over and will be used as the primary reference for subsequent events.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The CGC Tour Index will be calculated according to the following guidelines:<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    4 to 6 rounds played<\/strong>
    \nThe average of the two best rounds<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    7 to 8 last rounds played<\/strong>
    \nThe average of the three best rounds<\/p>\n

    CGC Tour Index Framework Based on the Golf Canada Record<\/strong><\/h3>\n

     <\/p>\n

    In order to protect the fairness of the competition, the integrity of the standings, and the overall experience of all members, the CGC Tour Index remains governed by the player\u2019s up-to-date Golf Canada record.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The following conditions apply:<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Player with 1 to 6 completed rounds on the Tour since its creation, and who has not participated in at least 3 of the Tour\u2019s last 5 events<\/strong>
    \nThe CGC Tour Index may not exceed the player\u2019s current Golf Canada index by more than\u00a02 strokes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Player with 1 to 6 completed rounds on the Tour since its creation, and who has participated in at least 3 of the Tour\u2019s last 5 events<\/strong>
    \nThe CGC Tour Index may not exceed the player\u2019s current Golf Canada index by more than\u00a03 strokes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Player with 7 completed rounds or more on the Tour since its creation, and who has not participated in at least 3 of the Tour\u2019s last 5 events<\/strong>
    \nThe CGC Tour Index may not exceed the player\u2019s current Golf Canada index by more than\u00a03 strokes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Player with 7 completed rounds or more on the Tour since its creation, and who has participated in exactly 3 of the Tour\u2019s last 5 events<\/strong>
    \nThe CGC Tour Index may not exceed the player\u2019s current Golf Canada index by more than\u00a04 strokes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Player with 7 completed rounds or more on the Tour since its creation, and who has participated in at least 4 of the Tour\u2019s last 5 events<\/strong>
    \nNo restriction based on the difference with the player\u2019s Golf Canada index will apply. The player\u2019s CGC Tour Index may be used as the primary reference, based on the player\u2019s performances on the Tour.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    These measures are intended to ensure that the CGC Tour Index reflects, as accurately as possible, a player\u2019s true scoring potential, while taking into account their participation history, performances on the Tour, and current Golf Canada record.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The CGC Tour reserves the right to revise a player\u2019s index at any time if the available information, recent performances, Golf Canada record, competition history, or any other relevant information indicates that the index being used does not accurately reflect the player\u2019s true scoring potential.<\/p>\n

    Maximum Index for New Members<\/strong><\/h3>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The maximum possible index is established according to the following guidelines:<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    First 3 rounds<\/strong>
    \nMaximum Index of 16<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    4th and 5th rounds<\/strong>
    \nMaximum Index of 18<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    6th to 8th rounds<\/strong>
    \nMaximum Index of 20<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    9th round and beyond<\/strong>
    \nNo maximum.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    However, for all members with a CGC Tour Index above 20, the average of the two best rounds will be used in order to ensure a more representative evaluation of the player\u2019s true scoring potential.<\/p>\n

    Professional Players<\/strong><\/h3>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Professional players who have played 10 rounds or more on the CGC Tour since 2022 and who have not participated in more than 2 events per year on professional tours other than the Quebec PGA circuit in 2023, 2024, and 2025 will be assigned their official Tour index.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n
